Dear Friends of the Owasso Foundation,

Mike Welborn
Founder & President

I would like to take a moment of your time to introduce a revolutionary way which society deals with America’s warriors – The Owasso Ranch and Retreat Center.

Owasso Ranch and Retreat Center will provide assistance and guidance to veterans and their families to help them reintegrate back into society while reconnecting these warriors with their families. It will also assist homeless veterans looking to become self-sufficient again by teaching them various job skills while giving the homeless veteran a place to stay and food to eat at no charge to the veteran.

Even though there is no charge to the homeless veteran, we firmly believe in the biblical principal that if you don’t work you don’t eat. This is why we will require every homeless veteran to provide labor on the ranch to help pay for their room and board. Owasso Ranch and Retreat Center will be a full working cattle ranch. It is our desire to rescue horses and allow our fellow veterans to work with them to rehabilitate both the veteran and the horses. We will also use dogs in a similar fashion, thus helping to eliminate the euthanizing of so many of God’s great creatures.

All products produced on the ranch – whether food from the fields or milk from the cows – will be used to feed the workers on the ranch. Anything not being used to feed the ranchers will be available for sale at the country store that will be located in the “old towne” section of the ranch. This will be open to the public with cabins for rent, a lake for fishing, an old west chapel, and even a library. This library will also serve as a career center for the veterans to assist them in writing resume’s, converting the skills they learned while in the military to civilian lingo, assisting the veteran with applying to go back to school.

I am personally inviting you to take a personal interest in this grassroots effort. Owasso Ranch and Retreat Center will be owned and operated by the Owasso Foundation – a 501(c)3 organization. Owasso Foundation is owned and operated by veterans and it is our goal to keep it owned and operated by veterans for the benefit of veterans and their families.

I am grateful for the opportunity to present this vision that God has provided to me. I am also extremely grateful to you for the time you have taken to read this letter and consider making a donation. Please pray about this opportunity! Great things are beginning to happen for the veterans in this region and I know you will want to be a part of this success!
